Elderberry: Myth, Magic & Medicine
Saturday, February 8th 3-4 p.m.
It was said that if an Elderberry bush grew by the front door, it was the woman who ruled and protected the home. Most of us have heard the benefits of the Elderberry and this is your chance to grow your very own plant!
In this interactive and fun workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn some of the folklore associated with this magical flower and berry, as well as the cultural and historical significance. We will also discuss the medicinal uses of the different parts of the plant and learn about some recent studies in using Elderberry to combat the flu. You’ll also be able to sample some delicious goodies made from the berries and flowers. Each participant will be able to prepare a plant cutting to take home and plant in the spring, perhaps by your own front door! Workshop is held at the Shop.
Cost is FREE but you need to register in advance – supplies are limited.
